GymPole

May 26th, 2009

Welcome to GymPole, Swinfit Studios’ version of Pole Aerobics. This class is open to students of all ages, sizes and abilities. You will be taught spins, climbs, transitional movements and some simple elements of dance.

GymPole looks easy but there is a great element of upper body strength needed which you will quickly achieve during training. Your arms will ache and you may pick up the odd bruise but the sense of achievement that you will feel as you become competent in each movement will give you such a good lift.

The club is very friendly and everyone is eager to help and when you complete a difficult manouvre everyone is always happy and complimentary, as we all know how hard some of the tricks are.

There is no time limit to achieve a manouvre, or move out of a class, the pace is up to you.

There are 6 levels;
1 and 2 are beginners
3 and 4 are intermediates
5 and 6 are senior competitors and performers

There is an option at level 3 and 4 to use a high heel dance shoe or boot and learn a few performance routines. You do not have to participate in any public performances after learning any of these things but some students have gained great confidence in doing some charity performances.

Testimonials from past students will help to give an insight into the club.

“I Joined Gym Pole 1 year ago, I wanted to do some exercise which toned me up and I was bored of going the gym. I got hooked on Pole as soon as I started, it made me ache loads in the first few months but you know it’s actually doing something to your muscles!!!! I used to think I’d never be able to go upside down on the pole and used to look at Rozy in amazement, but as time went on I could actually do these things which I was so proud of!! I feel I have come so far in a year of being at GymPole and my upper body strength has improved dramatically!! My arms and abs look so much more defined then before I started. I try my best never to miss a lesson as I love it that much it doesn’t feel like a chore because it’s something I really enjoy and I have made so many new friends from joining, everyone is really friendly and easy to get on with!!!! Rozy is also a fantastic teacher and makes hard moves seem possible to achieve. I have recommended all my friends and most of them have joined!!!” —Laura Marsh

“I have been going to pole lessons for a couple of weeks now and I love it! It’s such good exercise (you can tell by how much you ache the next day). All the girls are great and we have a lot of fun. Rozy is a brill teacher and choreographer. I just can’t wait to do the more advanced moves. The classes are at good times and the price is very very good compared with other places. Basically I think it’s ace! Anyone trying to tone up should give it a go!” —Lucy Hemmings
